After two cycles of the Startupbootcamp Amsterdam programme the total “funding score” is set at 90%. In 2012 all participating startups got funded. With this result Startupbootcamp Amsterdam beats the competition running similar programmes in, for example, the United States.
Founders Patrick de Zeeuw and Ruud Hendriks are looking forward to start again with ten new startups in 2014. “Looking at the high number of programmes we are running worldwide we are learning in fast cycles. As of 2014 Startupbootcamp will accelerate approximately 100 startups per year. With our vertical programmes like the NFC & Contactless Interactions programme in Amsterdam, the High Tech programme in Eindhoven and the Mobile programme in Copenhagen, we are on top of all the developments in these industries. We believe the vertical programmes are an important part for our future as an accelerator programme. In the meantime we are looking into possibilities of organizing other specialized programmes such as “Internet of Things”, “Smart City” and “E-commerce”.
The Startupbootcamp Alumni are very enthusiastic about the progress they made over the last couple of months thanks to their participation at Startupbootcamp Amsterdam. “Startupbootcamp has guided iLost to the next level with an extreme acceleration. For three full months we have been challenged and supported on our vision, business cases, team setting and of course product functionality. For three months we’ve received 24/7 intensive coaching that went into every detail of our company. iLost has transformed from a searching startup to a solid high potential business with a great perspective for the future,” says Hanneke Stegweg, CEO en founder of the Dutch startup.
Startupbootcamp Amsterdam also proved of fundamental importance for the development of the Italian startup AliveShoes. “Startupbootcamp is a super intense programme that challenges your team on a daily basis, whether it concerns business or private matters that you will face as a company. The programme forces you to focus and helps you with making the desired progress with the help of their network containing 1.000 world-class mentors. What would take any startup 18 to 24 months is now reduced to 3 to 6 months. They shorten your “roadmap” and accelerate your company at an impressive pace.
AliveShoes arrived at Startupbootcamp with a beta version of Aliveshoes.com. Now we have a fantastic online shoe creator- and sales platform, funding to start our international roll out, an Advisory Board and a strong network that we can consult for any challenge that may lie ahead. But most importantly Startupbootcamp has helped us increase our chances to grow internationally,” says Luca Botticelli, CEO and founder of AliveShoes.
Applications for Startupbootcamp Amsterdam are open. Teams can apply for one of the most desired spots within the Europe’s most successful accelerator programme via www.startupbootcamp.org. The acceleration of ten new participants will start on 31 March 2014. Startupbootcamp admits 1 – 1.5% of the applicants into their programmes.
For startups to get acquainted with Startupbootcamp, and vice versa, the programme is organizing “pitch days”. In the upcoming months Startupbootcamp is also organizing pitch days in Athens, London, and Barcelona. You can register for these days via the website.
